Good news, jailbreakers! Pod2g today confirmed that his iOS 5 untethered jailbreak demoed few days ago on iPod touch 4G is working on iPhone 4 running iOS 5.0.1. The news comes from pod2g’s Twitter timeline who invites users to update to iOS 5.0.1 in case they want to.

Pod2g has previously warned users from upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 and give him time so he can use the discovered security flaw found in iOS 5.

Since his jailbreak is currently working on iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1, you can feel free to upgrade.

Next step now is to test the untethered jailbreak on the A5 devices as the iPhone 4S and iPad 2. If the jailbreak is a new exploit, then it will most probably work on the devices. If it’s a big that changes tethered to untethered based on limera1n’s exploit, then it won’t work.

New iPads Expected to Arrive in the Next 3 to 4 Months

It seems like we just got done with all of the iPhone 4S/5 gossip, and now we’re already hearing tons of chatter regarding Apple’s next big product release: the iPad 3. It was to be expected though, as Apple’s second generation tablet is nearing the end of its life cycle.

This particular tidbit comes from DigiTimes, a Taiwanese daily newspaper with a laundry list of supply chain contacts and a history of breaking Apple-related news. The publication is reporting that manufacturers are already receiving parts for the new iPad…

“Meanwhile, Foxconn Electronics will begin to produce the next-generation iPads in January and to ramp up the production volume starting February, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report, which quoted Kevin Chang, an analyst of Citigroup Global Markets, as indicating. Production of the new iPads is expected to reach 9.5-9.8 million units in the first quarter of 2012, estimated sources in the supply chain.”

DigiTime’s report puts the iPad 3 release somewhere between February and March. Although Apple’s previous tablets saw March and April releases, we have been hearing rumors lately that its upcoming slate could launch as early as February.

Between growing competition from Samsung, and high consumer expectations, Apple has a lot riding on its next tablet. Pundits are expecting the new iPad to contain features like a Retina display, quad core processor, and even Siri integration.

So after you feel good with hearing this good news from Pod2G, you may recall that, when Apple first seeded the latest iOS update, we warned jailbreakers to stay away. The new software was pushed out to patch a major exploit in iOS that we thought would be crucial to an untethered jailbreak.

So after untethered jailbreak will be released to all users, it will be safe for you to update to iOS 5.0.1 because Apple already failed to block this exploit, so I ask all users not to worry because Pod2G made a video and showed it how it works in a great way...

Apple just released iOS 4.3 beta 1 to developers, and it looks like iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G have been discontinued as of iOS 4.3. Both of the devices are not listed anymore on the iOS developer website. This indicates that the latest iOS build for iPhone 3G and iPod touch may be iOS 4.2.1.
